Are you passionate about Ingatestone and Fryerning? Do you want to make a real difference in your community? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

The parish council currently has a vacancy for a parish councillor, and we’re inviting applications from local residents who would like to help shape the future of our village.

Being a parish councillor is a rewarding way to get involved in local life. You’ll work alongside fellow councillors on projects that improve our community, help make decisions on local issues, support events, and represent the views of residents. Read more about what councillors do and how councils operate..

With local government reorganisation on the horizon, this is an especially interesting time to become involved in local government. Parish councils will continue to play an important role in representing local communities, and new opportunities and challenges lie ahead.

No previous experience is necessary – just enthusiasm, a willingness to listen, and a desire to contribute. Full support and training will be provided.

If you’re interested, please complete a Co-option application form and eligibility form and return it to the parish clerk by 5.00pm on Monday 20 July via post or by emailing clerk@ingatestone-fryerningpc.gov.uk. Interested candidates are encouraged to attend Council and committee meetings in July (see page 11 or our website for the upcoming meetings). Face to face interviews will take place on 27 July.

If you’d like to find out more before applying, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’ll be happy to answer any questions.
