Community Governance Review
In recent months, concerns have been raised regarding a boundary proposal published as part of Brentwood Borough Council’s Community Governance Review.
Ingatestone & Fryerning Parish Council wishes to clarify that the boundary shown on the published map does not reflect the parish council’s original intended proposal.
The parish council’s original proposal related only to a limited area extending up to (but not including) Burnthouse Lane, including Mountney Close, the lower section of Heybridge Road, Court View and Ivy Barns Lane. The published map showed a significantly larger area, including Blossom Park, the recycling centre and additional properties towards Church Road.
The parish council raised this discrepancy with Brentwood Borough Council following publication of the map and has since continued discussions with Borough Council officers in an effort to clarify the matter.
The parish council recognises that the published map has caused concern and uncertainty for residents and for Mountnessing Village Council. This was never the intention of the parish council.
The parish council remains committed to engaging constructively with all parties and supporting a fair and evidence-based review process that reflects the interests and identities of local communities.
Following the Full Council meeting on 12 June 2026, the parish council resolved to withdraw its boundary proposal from Brentwood Borough Council’s Community Governance Review.
