Essex Association of Local Councils (EALC) have announced that applications are now open for the Essex County Council’s Food Support Fund, aimed at helping communities most affected by the rising cost of living. Eligible organisations – including foodbanks, food pantries, community and voluntary groups, and schools – can apply for funding to provide food support for families with children and individuals in need across ECC areas.

Grants available up to £3,000

Exceptional circumstances may be considered for awards up to £5,000

Funding must be used solely for food provision (not vouchers)

Support should reflect local need and cover the period Nov 2025 – Mar 2026

All grant funds must be spent by 31 March 2026

Applications will close once funds are fully allocated
Applicants should demonstrate clear processes to ensure the funding reaches those most impacted by cost-of-living pressures.
