As reported in our last newsletter, 71 per cent of the villages’ businesses who responded about ‘infrastructure challenges’ in our Business Questionnaire were most concerned about mobile phone coverage. The parish council believes that the provision of good telecommunications is an important aspect of sustainable economic growth and has been in touch with the main four mobile phone providers that cover our parish.
The good news is that Vodafone have responded and made alterations to their antennae to improve the signal. Vodafone has been the most pro-active of the four, and welcomed our comments on coverage. Their network team has looked at the mast serving the village and made some changes to optimise coverage in the local area. We will be asking our businesses on whether this has resulted in better service. Vodafone has also suggested we work in partnership with them to bring down the costs of network roll out so any outstanding gaps can be closed. We will be doing this
