This autumn, 500 households in Ingatestone will be part of a new waste collection pilot starting 7 October.
If your household is included, you will have already received a letter with an information leaflet explaining the changes.
As part of the pilot:
– A free 180-litre wheelie bin will be delivered to you from 15 September.
– General rubbish will be collected fortnightly (instead of weekly).
– Recycling will be collected fortnightly, using new blue (paper/card) and white (plastic/metal) disposable sacks.
– Food waste, glass and garden waste collections remain unchanged.
– The first collection under the new system will take place on 7 October.
The pilot is designed to help Brentwood improve recycling and cut general waste, in line with county-wide targets. For ideas on how to recycle more effectively or reduce the amount of waste you produce, visit Love Essex or www.loveessex.org/ideas/recycle
