bullet A friendly relaxed club that particularly welcomes families and youngsters.
bullet No ‘playing in’ requirements; we welcome players of all standards.
bullet Social play sessions at weekends and on summer evenings
bullet Very reasonable membership rates
bullet Coaching (see below)
bullet Annual knockout championship for juniors and adults and over 50’s with finals being played in September
bullet Monthly American tournaments (see below)
bullet Ad hoc social and fundraising events

Coaching

During 2006 we secured the services of new coach Martin Davis who runs one-hour coaching sessions on Saturdays for youths under 11, youths over 11 and adults. Non-club members are welcome.  The sessions are proving very popular with youngsters and in 2006 cost only £2 for members or £3 for non-members. Full details of the 2007 coaching schedule, which will start in February, will be included in the next PC Newsletter and on the PC website.  Private coaching is also available.

American Tournaments

American tournaments are held monthly on a Sunday afternoon with refreshments provided. They are fun sessions involving playing a number of short matches each with a different partner. Points are awarded for the number of games won. There are prizes for winners on the day and an end of the year for the overall winners.

League

There are two men’s teams and two women’s teams and a mixed doubles team playing in different divisions of the Brentwood & District league for the more serious players.

Membership

There are currently just over 100 members most of whom are youngsters. We encourage anyone who is interested to come along for a couple of sessions before deciding whether to join.

Anyone interested in finding out more about I&F Tennis Club should contact membership secretary Suzanne Emond on 353280 or may pick up an application form at either the Tennis Club or the Community Club
